SSgt. Joseph Miller honorably served six years of active duty and two years in active reserve with the United States Air Force. Specializing in the law enforcement and security career field, SSgt. Miller completed two deployments to the Middle East and Southwest Asia, along with multiple forward deployments. His service included assignments at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, and Eielson AFB, Alaska.

Part of a mission-focused, warfighter generation that rose to the challenge in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, SSgt. Miller embodies the Air Force core values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. As a member of the less than 1% of the American population who serve in the armed forces, he remains committed to these principles and the legacy of dedication and sacrifice they represent.

THE FAMILY MAN

Joseph Miller was born and raised in Southern California, while his wife Dawn hails from Long Island, New York. Their paths crossed in Alaska, where they both served at Eielson AFB. In 2006, they were married at 1st Baptist Church in North Pole, Alaska, marking the beginning of a loving and enduring partnership.

For the past 18 years, Joseph and Dawn have shared a happy marriage, blessed with three wonderful children: Shane (11), Hannah (9), and Blake (6). The Miller family currently resides in Mansfield, Texas, where they continue to build their lives together, rooted in love and family values.

Joseph Miller is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, committed to raising his family in the faith that shapes every aspect of their lives. Guided by his favorite Bible verse, “Then He said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men’” (Matthew 4:19), Joseph strives to reflect Christ’s love, grace, and humility in all he does. He shares the hope and salvation found in Jesus without judgment, gently encouraging others to seek a deeper relationship with Christ. Joseph is dedicated to instilling these values in his family, leading by example as he nurtures their faith in a world often distracted by other pursuits. Through his actions and words, he points others toward the abundant life and peace found in walking with Christ.

Spanning 50 acres, this hobby farm is more than a retreat—it's a place where the Miller family immerses themselves in the rhythms of the earth, far removed from society's relentless pace. Here, children grow up with dirt under their nails, tending to a lively herd of goats and over 400 spirited chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese. Standing guard are the faithful Great Pyrenees, Nala and Simba, ensuring every creature is safe. Amidst a flourishing pecan orchard and fields of coastal Bermuda hay, Bunky Farms embodies a life rooted in faith, family, and the simple, profound beauty of God's creation.
